I had a hip replacement on 31/05/23 performed by Mr S Shankar. This was my second hip replacement, the first one was also done by Mr Shankar. I have been extremely pleased with the outcome on both occasions with no problems after the operation. I had the surgery performed in Spire Hartswood on NHS and was treated with the upmost care & dignity. Mr Shankar was both friendly and informative, explaining the whole procedure beforehand which helped me to feel relaxed about the operation. Today I have been back for my post op check and he assures me that the result is perfect. I would thoroughly recommend this Surgeon to anyone considering surgery.

I am delighted with the outcome of my hip replacement. I am now without pain from the hip joint for the first time in a few years. Mr Shankar spoke to me on the day of the operation and he was very encouraging and I trusted him to take care of me. The care I received in Japonica ward was second to none from all the doctors, nurses, physios and support staff. I also received excellent care from the COPE team when I got home the day after the operation. I have made very good progress as I am pain free and now able to resume a normal life. I particularly want to thank Mr Shankar for his expertise performing brilliant surgery, including a very tidy scar and answering my questions and allowing me to get back to my life. I am amazed at how quickly I have recovered and and want to express my gratitude. Thank you very much. John Panayi
